ABOUT US

Hey,

I’m Dr. Henry McCain

You may have found yourself here because you need guidance and support for your child's emotional, academic, and psychological well-being. At Harper Pointe Psychological & Testing, I bring over a decade of clinical experience gained from reputable organizations such as Providence Saint John’s Child and Family Development Center and The Los Angeles Unified School District and the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District. My expertise includes assessments for children aged 6 and up, as well as therapy for adults and families.

Certified in evidence-based practices such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Managing and Adapting Practices (MAPS), and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), I specialize in tailored interventions that meet the unique needs of each child and family. I'm thrilled that you've discovered us and look forward to supporting you and your family on this journey.

While my professional skills and experience are key aspects of my practice, the importance of genuine empathy and supportive care resonates deeply with me. I pride myself on caring about your family and your child first, by recognizing this process is meant to inform how we support your child and not how we define them as a person. Each client’s journey is unique and requires a personalized method. My approach to assessment is grounded in openness, reflection, and empathy. I create a warm, caring, and positive environment where both you and your child feel comfortable and supported.

Childhood is brief, yet the most significant period of life. I’m here to help you seize this opportunity to ensure your child's lifelong mental and relational well-being. The truth is, there is nothing "wrong" with your child; we just haven't found the right ways for them to cultivate, develop, and grow their strengths. Together, we will uncover their potential. Our strength-based assessments will reveal your child's unique strengths and areas for growth across all domains, including academically, emotionally, and socially. This will help you understand them better and make it easier to access support in home, school, or any other setting.
